September Sales

After a slow summer of mostly solo estate sales, since Kit was in Seattle, we got back into the swing of things in September. However, this summer did result in a great find for me!
Hello lover. I'm thinking of reupholstering the cushions and sanding and oiling the wood.
I went to this sale after stalking the photo of this chair for weeks... I knew I had to have it. I got to the sale right on time and speed walked through the house until I found it languishing in the garage. There was another guy looking at it so I pretended to be really interested in this little side table until he hesitated & walked away...and I immediately stepped over the the ticket writer and bought it. VICTORY. Until I had to get it into my car. I finally wrangled it in but one of the legs was pressing on my stomach so if I had to slam my brakes I'm pretty sure I'd have been impaled.

Onto more current sales and finds:

Old Volvo that was being bid on. I did not bid, much to my husband's dismay.

Vintage tray- I think I'll gold leaf the legs and paint the tray a rusty red enamel.

HUGE original oil painting.
We saw the painting on day 1 of the sale... it is seriously great, but $50 (which, I understand is not a lot to ask for art that size, in a custom frame, but....I'm cheap). We went back the next day (discount day!) and it was still there and 15% off...so I had to get it. I hung it in my sewing room and I am thinking of painting some wide coral stripes on the wall it hangs on.

We also scored some great clothing last weekend that we'll save for another post. Stay tuned!
